Sports Optics in Sölden.

In sport, every moment counts. Every second, every metre, every decision. Clear, precise vision supports orientation and reaction — when running, cycling, skiing and in team sports.

VISION IN MOTION.

Fast or precise.

In fast sports such as running, cycling or team sports, reaction time and adaptability are what count. Sports optics has to keep up: light, aerodynamic and securely fitted. Wind, sweat and quick movements must not needlessly get in the way of your vision.

Golf, shooting or winter sports make different demands. Here, detail contrast, glare reduction and colour rendering matter. The optical solution has to suit the movement, the light and the specific task.

Dynamic sports situation with sports eyewear

Material and technology follow the task.

Modern sports optics uses materials such as polycarbonate or Trivex and can work with polarising or photochromic lenses. Which combination makes sense depends on the sport, the light, the need for protection and optical correction.

Anti-reflective, water-repellent or scratch-resistant coatings and ventilation systems each do a different job. What matters is not the longest list of features, but a solution whose properties suit how it will actually be used.

DIFFERENT SPORTS. DIFFERENT NEEDS.

The right solution for your sport.

Not every piece of sports optics suits every sport. Movement, field of view, light and protection together decide which solution fits.

Sports eyewear

Light, close-fitting and secure: sports eyewear brings together protection, field of view and the demands of each movement.

The right solution starts with the specific sport — not with a general product promise.

Protection has to be specific.

For outdoor sports, sun protection, filter category and glare behaviour belong in the consultation. Which lens solution is suitable depends on the environment, duration, weather and intended use.

Material, frame and fit also affect grip and safety. These properties have to be considered together and checked on the person and with the equipment they use.

Before the consultation.

Which sports optics suits my sport best?

That depends on your sport and your individual requirements. For fast sports I recommend lightweight sports eyewear with a secure fit. For precision sports, polarising lenses can make sense. In the consultation I find a suitable solution together with you.

How long does it take to fit sports eyewear?

Fitting sports eyewear usually takes 30–60 minutes. I measure your prescription, advise you on suitable options and adjust the eyewear individually to the shape of your face.

Can I wear sports contact lenses only occasionally?

Yes, sports contact lenses can be worn just occasionally. I offer daily, weekly and monthly lenses that are suitable for occasional use. Good care and regular check-ups are important.

How do I look after my sports optics properly?

Clean your sports eyewear or contact lenses regularly with the recommended care products. Store them in the case provided and avoid extreme temperatures. With contact lenses, follow the wearing times and care instructions exactly.

Does health insurance cover the cost of sports optics?

Whether health insurance covers the cost depends on your insurance and on medical necessity. As a rule, sports eyewear and sports contact lenses are not covered by statutory health insurance. Private supplementary insurance may reimburse part or all of the cost.

How often should I replace my sports optics?

Sports eyewear should be checked every one to two years, especially if your prescription has changed or the eyewear is damaged. Contact lenses have different replacement intervals depending on the type.
